The 2011 Celebration of Swans poster is here!
Every year a collectible poster is produced featuring a local art piece that celebrates spring.
Thousands of these posters are distributed to communities across Yukon and Alaska. Your art could be widely seen and loved by Yukoners and people all over the world.

CBC interview: Celebration of Swans poster art contest
with Carrie McClelland, Wildlife Viewing Technician
2011 Poster Art winner, Mark Paulson
"My current focus is on capturing perspectives of the natural world, concentrating on images of nature, wildlife and travel (the world). The experience of getting to and capturing the beauty of nature and the wildlife populating it, is a large part of my personal experience in photographing their imagery. Actually making the photograph to capture the scene, so it can be shared with others, is the other component I enjoy. I work to find the unique or different perspective when making photographs, giving the viewers a sense of the place that I experienced when making the images.
I have been involved with the Trumpeter Swan Society for many years - dating back to the late 1980s when it was essentially being run by the Hennepin County (Minnesota) Parks Department. I started doing volunteer photography work with the TSS and took images for the painting created by Jim Meger that was subsequently printed and sold with the proceeds going to the TSS.
After a long hiatus, I was reintroduced to the TSS by Peg Abbot, who saw one of my Trumpeter Swan images and she left a note on my website. After reading her note, I contacted the TSS and offered use of my images. I signed up for the TSS newsletter and it was in a recent copy that I saw the info on the Poster Contest."
