Site description:
  • The Yukon’s newest campground with several sites overlooking the lake. Six new walk-in sites.
  • The Tagish name for the lake, Tséi Zhéłe' Méne', refers to the howling sound made by the wind in the rocks across the lake.
  • The now-abandoned town of Conrad City supported the Venus silver mine in the early 1900s.
  • Hike the Łèiłú Déi (Butterfly Trail) loop in the campground or the nearby Sam McGee Trail up the mountain, also called the Mountain Hero Trail. It connects to Carcross's famous mountain bike trail system. The new Łèiłú Déi (Butterfly Trail) was built in partnership with Singletrack to Success and Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Interpretation will be developed in collaboration with the Conrad Historic Site committee.
