Tombstone Interpretive Centre

The Tombstone Interpretive Centre is your first stop for adventures in Tombstone Territorial Park. Located at km 71.5, Dempster Highway, Yukon, it is a one-hour drive north of Dawson City.
Centre hours for 2013:
| June 1 - June 20: | Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm |
| June 21 - September 1: | Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm |
| September 1 - 15: | Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm |
Services
Drop in for a cup of 'Mountain Wild tea by the fire, visit the library, take part in an interpretive program or special event and enjoy the interpretive displays. Check the bulletin board for daily programming and the frequently updated schedule of special events.
The centre showcases the park's features through interpretive displays and trails, guided walks and programs and friendly knowledgable staff. Outdoor information boards display information on wildlife sightings, bear safety, events, trail and highway conditions.
The centre sells backcountry camping permits, maps, rents out bear canisters for a refundable deposit and issues camping permits and fishing licenses.
Tombstone Territorial Park Hiking Map is available for sale at the Tombstone Interpretive Centre along with the four 1:50,000 scale topographical maps encompassing the park.
A green and hardy building
The beautiful building itself is worth a visit to see how it was designed to withstand its harsh and remote northern environment, reduce it's environmental impact and maximize the energy from the sun.
